As a children’s activity provider, I have a duty of care to ensure that as far as is possible, children and adults attending my classes will not be exposed to any additional risks to their health and safety.

The following measures will be put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19:

Classes will be timed so that there is at least 30 mins in between each class to avoid two groups using the venue at once. This will mean starting and finishing times will have to be stricter than I would like so please arrive on time and leave promptly at the end.

Venues used have been cleaned to a high standard prior to reopening in line with Covid guidelines issued and their risk assessments have been read.

Both rooms used will be large enough to allow a group of up to 30 people to socially distance. There will be a maximum of 12 different family groups (plus me) at each session.

Venues will be cleaned several times a week by commercial cleaners arranged by the venues and the surfaces, touch points, toilets and floors will be cleaned with antibacterial cleaning products after each group.

When in use, the halls will be well ventilated with doors and /or windows open where possible. (Please bear in mind that it may be cooler than we might like it to be at times so do bring an extra layer just in case!)

The venues have a limited capacity which means that ideally one adult can attend with their child.  It is o.k to bring an extra adult as long as I know in advance to prevent overcrowding.

Any siblings 2 years old and above will be charged for (50% of the normal fees). They will be counted as one of the group and will therefore have their own basket of resources (and mat if they wish). In this instance, an extra adult can come along to accompany them if you like.

Participants are encouraged to wait outside until the doors are opened.

Wearing a face mask / covering is no longer compulsory  it is up to the individual to decide. Please respect each other’s decision.

Please use the hand sanitising gel provided when you arrive AND when leaving at the end. During the session, please use tissues and dispose of in the bins provided and sanitise / wash hands. Try and avoid touching mouth, nose and eyes.

Toilets are available at each venue. Please report any issue to me in terms of cleanliness and help to maintain a safe environment for all by using bins provided.

You will be given a train ticket on arrival – please help your child to find the numbered mat which matches their ticket in the hall and leave your belongings on the chair nearby. Family groups can sit together on their mats which will be placed a safe distance from other families.

Where possible, minimise what you bring into the hall as the children use the space around you to move around. Please try and only bring what is essential (e.g. water bottle, coats, bag). Please ensure coats/bags are placed on the nearby chair rather than on the floor to avoid tripping anyone up.

Children and adults to wear shoes inside at all times.

Once seated, please feel free to look at and discuss what is in your basket for the session. These will be used by another group afterwards so please try and keep things together.

Please bear in mind that the class requires adult supervision at all times and at times there may be smaller items in the basket. Please keep them out of reach of younger siblings.

Please keep your basket of resources together so you have what you need for the next session and it is ready for another group to use after.

At the end of each day, any resources used in the session will all be collected in and cleaned using antibacterial spray/ wipes ready for the next day. All fabric items will be taken home and washed by me ready for the next day.

The lessons have been adapted to cater for a new ‘socially distanced’ way of learning to minimise the risk of infecting others.

Art and craft activity tables will be set up near to your mats with space for you to work with a safe distance between each family. Tables and equipment will be cleaned / replenished after the session ready for the next group.

Clean, re-usuable hand towels are available to use for cleaning your child’s hands afterwards. (please bring your own baby wipes if you prefer)

In order to comply with the Government’s Track and Trace system, if anyone test positive for Covid within 72 hours of attending the class, please let me know so I can inform others within the group. They can then take sensible measures to test themselves and isolate of required.

Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 or who has tested positive should NOT attend to prevent the risk of infection.

If anyone is taken ill while in the building, they should leave immediately, informing me if possible before they leave.

Please follow NHS guidelines on self-isolation and hygiene.

If for any reason you are unable to attend a session, please notify me beforehand and I can send you the link to an online lesson to view from home. Sadly, I cannot always offer the flexibility to swap to another day anymore or offer a refund in this instance.

In the event that I need to cancel your session, you will receive a 50% refund for each session cancelled and the lesson can be accessed online instead.

Please note that this new way of teaching and working worked well last year and didn’t stop us all having lots of fun.

I will be looking for feedback and reviewing the situation along the way so please feel free to raise any questions linked to each point as we go along.

It is important we work together this term to try and minimise risk to all. The children all attend different settings and with rules of isolating being more relaxed, we still need to be quite cautious.

Please note that these measures are subject to change depending on government guidelines and our day to day experiences once we get started.

Next review date : Jan 2022
